Big Changes At The Back | Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Lineup vs Partizan Belgrade

Manchester United return to Old Trafford after yet another disappointing performance, away at Bournemouth in the Premier League.

The Red Devils host Partizan Belgrade at home after four back-to-back away games. The English side currently sit top of Group L in the Europa League, two points ahead of AZ Alkmaar after three games.

The last time United played in the Europa League was against Partizan in Belgrade, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side edged the game 1-0. The English side are in a comfortable position in the Europa League, and a win in this tie could secure their place in the knockout rounds of the competition.

Manchester United Team News

Victor Lindelof has a back issue, and will not feature in this game. Luke Shaw will probably be available only after the international break, while Solskjaer has already revealed that Paul Pogba could be available in December.

Let’s take a look at the probable Manchester United lineup that Solskjaer may put out against Partizan.

Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Partizan Belgrade

Goalkeeper

Sergio Romero has started two of the three Europa League games this season and he should start against Partizan on Thursday.

Defence

Argentine defender Marcos Rojo should start for United against Partizan Belgrade with Phil Jones possibly starting at the back. Harry Maguire could be given a rest as he has played several games recently.

At left-back, Brandon Williams – who has been impressive for United in the handful of games – should replace Ashley Young in the team.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka should play at right-back as Diogo Dalot is still out with an injury. United should play a four-man defence, changing from the three-man defence that they played against Partizan away from home.

Midfield

Nemanja Matic has returned to training for Manchester United, but this game will come too soon for him. James Garner should return to the Manchester United lineup, playing alongside Fred in midfield, with Juan Mata playing ahead of them in the No. 10 role.

Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira are other options in midfield in place of Mata.

Attack

Anthony Martial may be rested as he played the entire 90 minutes last time around against Bournemouth. Marcus Rashford could play through the middle for United, with Jesse Lingard and Daniel James taking up wide roles in the Manchester United lineup.

James could move to the left, with Lingard playing from the right, but the trio of James, Lingard, and Mata could switch places during the game. Mason Greenwood is an option as a striker or out wide as well.
