Hudson-Odoi In, Willian Out | 4-3-3 Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Ajax

chelsea lineup

Chelsea have been in superb form over the last few weeks in the Premier League, winning their last five Premier League games, which has kept them in touch with Manchester City and Leicester City, who occupy second and third place respectively.

Frank Lampard’s men registered their 7th win of the season on Saturday, when they defeated Watford 2-1.

The Blues now shift their attention towards last year’s Champions League semi-finalists, Ajax, whom they face in Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Chelsea are top of Group H in the Champions League, ahead of Ajax on goal difference. The Premier League side need a win to solidify their qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League as Valencia are just two points behind them in third, and could go ahead of them if they get a favourable result against Lille.

The Londoners have several of their first-team players returning from injury, which will be a huge boost for Lampard. Let’s take a look at the possible starting lineup for the Champions League game:

Chelsea Team News

Antonio Rüdiger, though, is not yet ready to return as he is still out with an injury.

Ross Barkley and N’Golo Kante are also closing in on a return to the Chelsea team, but Lampard may not want to risk them by starting either of them. We could see one of the two on the bench for the game against Ajax.

Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Ajax

Goalkeeper

Kepa should start in goal for the Blues against Ajax on Tuesday.

Defence

Andreas Christensen is on the comeback trail from injury and could be included in the Chelsea lineup for the game against Ajax. Christensen could partner Fikayo Tomori at the heart of the Chelsea defence for the game against Ajax.

Emerson returned to the Chelsea lineup against Watford after being out for over a month. Lampard may not want to risk playing him once again in the space of four days, which means that Marcos Alonso could return at left-back.

Captain César Azpilicueta is set to continue at right-back for Chelsea.

Midfield

Jorginho could start as he is suspended for next week’s Premier League clash. He could play alongside Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic in the Chelsea midfield.

Attack

Tammy Abraham could start again having scored over the weekend, while the other goalscorer from Saturday’s match, Christian Pulisic, will start from the left.

Willian could be given a rest and replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right.
