Longstaff Out, Hayden In | 5-4-1 Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs West Ham

Newcastle United are creeping towards the relegation zone yet again as the Magpies are just one point ahead of 18th-placed Southampton.

The Magpies could only secure a draw against Wolves last time around, and will hope to perform better in their match against West Ham United on Saturday.

Steve Bruce’s men have registered just 2 wins in their opening 10 games of the Premier League season. They face a West Ham side who are struggling, who have lost two and drawn two of their last four Premier League games.

Bruce may have a few of his key players returning from injury which will be a huge boost for him ahead of his side’s trip to London. Let’s take a look at the possible Newcastle United lineup:

Newcastle United Team News

Matt Ritchie has an ankle injury and won’t be available. Fabian Schär, who has been one of Newcastle United’s best players this season, will most likely miss the game against West Ham United due to a knee injury, which kept him out of the last Premier League game as well.

Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs West Ham

Goalkeeper

Martin Dubravka should start in goal for the Magpies against West Ham United.

Defence

Bruce may have Florian Lejeune available for selection as he returned from injury to play 45 minutes for Newcastle United’s Under-23 team against Middlesbrough. He may not make the Newcastle United lineup, but he could make the squad.

Jamaal Lascelles, who scored last time around, should start in defence, playing alongside Ciaran Clark and Federico Fernández.

Jetro Willems should start at left wing-back as Matt Ritchie has yet to return to the side from injury. Over on the right-hand side, DeAndre Yedlin should continue in the right wing-back slot.

Midfield

Sean Longstaff will miss Newcastle’s trip to West Ham United as he is suspended for the game, having been sent off last time around against Wolves.

Isaac Hayden should replace him in the side, who is, incidentally, returning from suspension. Matty Longstaff should retain his place in midfield after impressing against Wolves.

Attack

Miguel Almiron should continue to play from the right side for the Magpies, while Allan Saint-Maximin – who has looked the most exciting player for the Magpies in recent games – should play from the left.

Joelinton has scored just one goal in his 10 Premier League starts, but Bruce could persist with the record-signing.
