Real Madrid Reportedly ‘Dreaming’ Of French World Cup Star: More Than Just A Statement Signing

Real Madrid might be top of the Spanish Primera Liga, but they are still looking to make their team stronger and are ‘dreaming’ of PSG star Kylian Mbappe, as per reports.

Los Blancos went on a summer spending spree after finishing the 2018-19 campaign trophyless, and signed Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, among other names.

As per TransferMarketWeb, Real Madrid are not happy with the impact Hazard has made at the club since joining them from Chelsea for a fee of €100 million on the summer transfer window, and are dreaming of Mbappe.

Hazard has found it hard to adjust to life at the Bernabeu, and has managed just one goal so far in the league.

Mbappe hasn’t been in glittering form either, but considering his age and ability, he would be a dream target for any club, let alone Real Madrid.

Signing Kylian Mbappe would be more than just a statement

Real Madrid are no strangers to spending big money on star players, and despite the summer window they just had, don’t be surprised if they try and flex their financial muscle once again in the coming transfer windows.

After a poor season last time out, Real Madrid re-hired Zinedine Zidane, the manager who led them to three successive Champions League titles and a La Liga title. However, things under Zidane have been far from smooth.

The club have struggled in the Champions League even though they have managed to get consistent results on the European stage, and Zidane is under pressure to get the right team selection.

During his first spell at the club, Zidane had a squad that had quality players – including a certain Cristiano Ronaldo – and just had to get the formation right. Now, there are areas where the squad can improve.

Although defensive reinforcements are more important as of now, Mbappe’s arrival would make the attack pretty much unstoppable. Karim Benzema isn’t getting any younger, and Hazard, despite his massive price tag, wasn’t always a massive goal scorer at Chelsea.

Hazard’s potential combination with Mbappe would work well as the Frenchman has an eye for goal, while the former is more adept at build-up play and driving at defences, creating chances at will instead.

A counter-attacking set-up, with Hazard, Mbappe and Gareth Bale is one that even the best of defences will find difficult to keep in check.

Mbappe will cost a lot of money though, and considering another PSG star – Neymar – had an unsettling summer, it remains to be seen if the Parisians will be willing to let go of two key players in the future no matter how big the bid.
