3-3-3-1 Leeds United Predicted XI vs Preston

Leeds United returned to winning ways on Saturday against Birmingham City in Elland Road, thanks to a goal from Kalvin Phillips. The Whites play Preston North End on Tuesday night at Deepdale, and a win for Marcelo Bielsa’s men could take them to the top of the table once again.

Leeds are currently second, two points from West Bromwich Albion, who lead the Championship. The game on Tuesday could see the return of a few key players as Leeds are almost getting to full strength once again.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United lineup for the game against Preston.

PREDICTED LEEDS UNITED LINEUP vs PRESTON (3-3-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Kiko Casilla is set to continue between the sticks as only an injury or suspension to him is going to force him to be withdrawn from the Leeds United lineup.

Defence

Leeds played a back three on Saturday, with Ben White, Gaetano Berardi, and Luke Ayling playing as the three centre-backs. The trio did well, and we could see the same route taken in the Leeds United lineup for the game against Preston.

Liam Cooper is still out with an injury and he will not be involved in the game against Preston.

Stuart Dallas played as a right wing-back, and did well, moving into central areas to strengthen the midfield region. He will continue in that position, while Ezgjan Alioski will play at left wing-back.

Midfield

Kalvin Phillips scored the only goal in the game between Leeds and Birmingham on Saturday and was the best player on the pitch. He will play in the deep role for Leeds, with Mateusz Klich playing further ahead in the Leeds United lineup.

Adam Forshaw is still out of action due to an injury, and it’s unlikely that he will start the game on Tuesday. Forshaw could maybe get on the bench for the game against Preston.

Attack

Pablo Hernandez did not make the bench for the game against Birmingham but is almost ready to return to the team, having played a U23 game. This means that Helder Costa will retain his place on the right side, with Jack Harrison – who had a good game last time around – playing on the left in the Leeds United lineup.

Patrick Bamford did not score a goal yet again, but Bielsa may not want to tinker with a winning team and keep the striker in the team.
