Leicester are a transformed team under Rodgers and currently fourth in the table after 8 games, two points behind Manchester City, who are in second.

Let’s take a look at Leicester City’s best XI so far:

Goalkeeper

Kasper Schmeichel is one of the few members remaining from Leicester City’s title-winning side, and he has had a decent season so far between the sticks for the Foxes. The Danish international has played all 8 games for Leicester in the league this season, conceding just 7 goals in 8 games.

Defence

The Foxes have coped with the exit of centre-back Harry Maguire very well, who moved to Manchester United in the summer. Turkish international Çaglar Söyüncü has stepped into Maguire’s boots admirably and has formed a good partnership with experienced central defender Jonny Evans at the back.

At right-back, Portuguese international Ricardo Pereira has been a rock who has contributed both in attack and defence, scoring two goals in the 8 games he has featured in so far.

On the opposite flank, England international Ben Chilwell has done very well too, firmly establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in England.

Midfield

Leicester City’s midfield has had the right balance of defensive astuteness and attacking flair, with a young midfield trio being instrumental in the side’s good form. At the base of midfield, Wilfred Ndidi has continued his superb form from last season and has even added goals to his tally. Ndidi covers a lot of ground, makes vital tackles and interceptions, and has even scored 2 goals in 7 appearances this season.

Ahead of him, the duo of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans have controlled the tempo of games as well as created chances with their dribbling and clever passes. Maddison, in particular, has been very impressive, scoring 2 and assisting 2 in 7 games for the club.

On the left side, another youngster, 21-year-old Harvey Barnes, has done well in the opportunities that he has got so far. He has started 4 of the 8 games so far, scoring once and assisting once. New signing Ayoze Perez has had a steady start, playing on the right side, and is bound to get better as he understands his new teammates better.
