West Brom will travel to the Elland Road to face Leeds United on Tuesday in Matchday 10 of the 2019-20 Championship campaign.
The Baggies are sitting at the top of the table and are yet to lose a game. However, their clash against Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be a tough test, and the fixture promises to be an entertaining one.
West Brom Team News
Kieran Gibbs was back on the bench against QPR, and should be available for the upcoming fixture as well. Ahmed Hegazi and Connor Townsend are back in training, while Gareth Barry could return from his knee injury next month.
Predicted West Brom Lineup Vs Leeds United (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Sam Johnstone is the undisputed first-choice shot-stopper for Albion at the moment. He bagged a clean sheet in the previous outing, and the custodian will be full of confidence this time around.
The central defensive partnership of Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi could once again be used by Bilic. These two have forged a decent partnership at the back, and have undoubtedly cemented their place in the West Brom lineup.
While Bartley has mustered 1.4 interceptions and 4.8 clearances per game on an average after 9 league games, Ajayi averages 3.9 clearances every game after having featured in every Championship outing for his side.
Nathan Ferguson and Darnell Furlong could get the nod to operate as the full-backs
Midfield
Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers are the regulars in midfield, but will have a tough game against Leeds who like to press the opposition.
Matheus Pereira could start as the central attacking midfielder. The 23-year-old Brazilian has already plundered 1 goal and 3 assists and will be up against Kalvin Phillips in midfield.
Attack
Kenneth Zohore could be called back into the West Brom lineup as Charlie Austin has been far from convincing. On the wide areas, Grady Diangana and Matt Phillips are expected to start.
Down the left flank, Diangana has been lethal. Having scored 3 goals and registered 2 assists from 7 league outings, he will be a key figure in the final third once again if he gets the chance to start.
