Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City have made a bright start to their 2019/20 campaign. They are just one of three teams in the league yet to lose a game, and are third in the points table, with eight points from their first four games.
The Foxes will believe that they can keep up their unbeaten record when they travel to Old Trafford come Saturday.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have picked up just two points from their last three games and are in a bad run of form ahead of this game.
United have also lost three of their last five home games, but the Foxes have won just one of their last 20 games against the hosts.
Rodgers will, however, believe that his side have a strong chance of taking something from this game. Here is the predicted lineup he might field for this tie:
Leicester City Team News
Rodgers was confident that Wes Morgan will be fit to be a part of the squad, if not the Leicester City lineup, for this trip to Manchester. Matthew James and Daniel Amartey are both nursing injuries and are ruled out for this game.
Predicted Leicester City Lineup vs Manchester United (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel is yet to be rigorously tested this season. But could have a tough time between the sticks this weekend. He has been offered great cover by Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu, the latter standing as one of the best players in this role so far this season.
They will have their task cut out in this game, against the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Ben Chilwell had a couple of superb games for England in the break, and will be high on confidence this weekend. But he will have to keep an in-form Daniel James quiet, to try and reduce the pressure on his backline.
Ricardo Pereira has been effective at both ends of the field at right-back, and has to be kept quiet by the hosts.
Midfield
Wilfried Ndidi has posted impressive numbers for the Foxes this season and is one of the first names on the team sheet for Rodgers. He will start in the defensive midfield role, alongside Hamza Choudhury and Youri Tielemans, both of who will have to add help Ndidi and their backline out when needed.
Ayoze Perez could be more effective in a support striker role but has been preferred on the right flank. He will start out-wide like James Maddison, who will start on the left flank.
Both players love to drift into the no.10 role and could be hard to mark for the United midfield and the backline.
Attack
Jamie Vardy is slowly finding his form early this season. He will be the biggest threat for the Red Devils in this game. He will face his former teammate in Harry Maguire, and will do all it takes to get one over him.
Here is how they might line up:
