Confirmed: Chelsea Defensive Ace To Join Fulham In January

Chelsea will allow defender Michael Hector to leave the club for Fulham in January, it has been confirmed.

The 27-year old had been linked with a move to Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, but a transfer failed to materialise as the Championship outfit could not agree a fee with the Blues.

Now, it has been revealed that the centre-back will be allowed to leave for Fulham in the next transfer window as he is not in manager Frank Lampard’s plans.

Hector had a season-long loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday last season, and impressed for the side by featuring 37 times in the Championship. He also scored two goals in the process.

Since moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2015, Hector is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues, and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon.

Still only 27, he would be a good signing for any Championship side, and and will make Fulham a stronger team.

Lampard has preferred the duo of Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma at the back, and with Antonio Rudiger an option when fit, the manager has players to choose from. Hector signed for the club in the Jose Mourinho era, but never really pushed the first-team stars for a starting spot.
