3 Players Who Don’t Deserve To Be At Chelsea Any More

Marcos Alonso

The 2019-20 season for Chelsea could very well see the Blues go in a different direction where they give a chance to their talented youth players, under new manager Frank Lampard.

The transfer ban has certainly made it easier for the English manager to play his young stars and this decision could pay dividends for the club in the long run.

The Blues lost quite a few of their older stars before the start of the season as the likes of David Luiz, Gary Cahill, and Eden Hazard left the club, which resulted in Chelsea rebuilding their side.

There are still a few players who could and should leave the club as they do not have a future under Lampard.

Let’s take a look at 3 players who don’t deserve to be at Chelsea:

#3 Michy Batshuayi

It hasn’t quite worked out for Michy Batshuayi at Chelsea as the Belgian striker hasn’t been able to make a mark at the London club.

Batshuayi, who was on loan at Crystal Palace for the second half of last season and scored 6 goals in 13 games, will have to be content for a role on the bench at Chelsea as youngster Tammy Abraham and experienced striker Olivier Giroud seem to be the first two options for Lampard up front.

But, Chelsea will most likely sign a world-class striker once the transfer ban ends, which could possibly see Batshuayi exit Stamford Bridge.

#2 Marcos Alonso

A few seasons ago, Spaniard Marcos Alonso was possibly the best left-back in England, but poor form has resulted in him losing his place in the starting XI at the club.

Italian international Emerson has taken his spot in the Chelsea lineup and has been very impressive this season, and has been one of Chelsea’s best players under Lampard.

Alonso will probably not be happy at being on the bench, and with Chelsea refreshing their squad, it is possibly time for them to let Alonso go and bring in a younger left-back.

#1 Willian

31-year-old Willian has been a great servant for the Blues since signing for them in 2013, winning two Premier League titles and one Europa League title in his six years at the club.

The Brazilian international may have fewer opportunities this year at the club with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Pedro, and youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi fighting for the two wide positions, with Willian fourth in that pecking order.

The experienced winger’s performances have not improved over the last season or so, and he must be another player that should be sold in Lampard’s new-look team.
