Newly promoted Norwich City have given a decent account of themselves so far on their return to the top-flight. But they have now lost back to back games against Chelsea in the league and Crawley in the League Cup.
Daniel Farke’s men travel to the capital city to take on West Ham United, who are fresh from back to back wins against Watford in the league and Newport in the League Cup.
While Manuel Pellegrini is still undecided on his strongest lineup, Farke will need his players to step up their game for this trip to London Stadium.
There are a number of exciting names from both teams, who could be match-winners on their day. Here are five such players to look out for in this clash:
West Ham United vs Norwich City: 5 Players To Watch Out For
#5 Teemu Pukki (Norwich City)
The 29-year old has announced himself to the Premier League in fine fashion. He now has five goals in the first three games and will fancy his chances against the likes of Angelo Ogbonna and Issa Diop from West Ham.
Pukki is a natural finisher, and if Norwich City can give him enough service, he can hurt the Hammers.
#4 Felipe Anderson (West Ham United)
Having returned to the starting XI last weekend against Watford, the Brazilian attacker looked sharp and dangerous. He was denied a goal by the post, assisted Sebastien Haller’s first in that game, and was one of the best players for West Ham, playing just over 75 minutes.
Anderson is an exciting player to watch and can make things happen out of nothing. The likes of Max Aarons will have their work cut out in trying to keep Anderson quiet in this game.
#3 Sebastien Haller (West Ham United)
West Ham’s new signing Haller finally opened his account against the Hornets. He picked up a brace against The Hornets but was an unused substitute in the win over Newport in the League Cup.
Haller already looks like a settled player, and was a real threat to the likes of Craig Dawson and Craig Cathcart for most of the game. His hold up play and instinctive finishing could be a real danger for The Canaries this weekend.
#2 Todd Cantwell (Norwich City)
Daniel Farke wants his players to play an attacking brand of football and there is a reason why they have been not been blown apart in the top flight. While Pukki’s goal scoring prowess and the experience of their backline have been crucial for their start, Todd Cantwell’s energy down the left flank cannot be overstated.
The 21-year old has created eight chances to add to his goal and two assists so far this season. He could be a real threat.
#1 Declan Rice (West Ham United)
The young English midfielder is one of the first names on the team sheet for Pellegrini this season. He has been consistently impressive in the middle of the park for West Ham. He may not be able to control the tempo and dictate the game, but his presence has certainly lifted pressure off of his defensive line.
Rice’s ability to read the game and get out of tight situations under pressure will be crucial for The Hammers to keep Norwich City from breaking through their defence.
