Championship leaders Leeds United take on second-placed Swansea City this weekend, with both sides locked on 13 points, winning 3 and drawing 1. Leeds endured a painful loss on penalties against Stoke City in the League Cup but will have a stronger team against Swansea.
The last time these two sides met at Elland Road in the Championship, the Whites won 2-1. Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that he has a full-strength squad to select the Leeds United lineup apart from Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts.
PREDICTED LEEDS UNITED LINEUP vs SWANSEA CITY (4-3-2-1)
Goalkeeper
Kiko Casilla seems to be an ever-present fixture in Leeds’ teams this year and will start once again against Swansea City.
Defence
Liam Cooper missed the League Cup game as well as the last league game but could return to the Leeds United lineup this weekend against Swansea, and partner Ben White at the back.
Left-back Barry Douglas returned to the Leeds United lineup in the last League Cup game, and although his deputy Ezgjan Alioski has done well, Bielsa may want the more experienced left-back for this key game. Luke Ayling is still out which means that Stuart Dallas will start at right-back for Leeds.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips will continue at the base of midfield despite playing every game for the Whites this season. He will be joined by Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw in the centre of the park. The trio has formed a very good partnership and has dominated against most teams that they have faced off so far.
If manager Marcelo Bielsa goes with two strikers up top and an attacking midfielder, we could see experienced attacker Pablo Hernandez play in the hole behind the two strikers.
Attack
Patrick Bamford, who has been in good form so far, scoring 4 goals in the league, will most likely start for the Whites on Saturday, although young Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah could also get an opportunity after scoring a goal midweek in the League Cup, taking his tally to 2 goals in 3 games.
Bielsa could even start with two out-and-out strikers in Bamford and Nketiah and drop Jack Harrison to the bench, although it’s unlikely Bielsa will tinker with a winning formula.
