Opinion: Chelsea and Manchester City among clubs who should target this Bundesliga star next year

Jadon Sancho

England’s brightest young prospect, Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, could move away from the German club in next summer’s transfer window with reports suggesting that Dortmund have already begun to find replacements for him.

According to Daily Mail, the 19-year-old could be worth more than £100 million if any clubs are interested in signing him.

Sancho, who moved from Manchester City to Dortmund in 2017, has a contract with the German club till 2022.

We take a look at three Premier League clubs who should look to move in for him:

Chelsea

Of the three teams in this list, Chelsea will need a player like Jadon Sancho the most. After losing their star player Eden Hazard, the Blues haven’t had the opportunity to replace him due to the transfer ban imposed on them.

Sancho could fill the huge hole left by the Belgian on the Chelsea left, and could be a player that represents Chelsea for the next decade.

Christian Pulisic, who was with the German club, moved to the Blues in this summer’s transfer window, and Sancho could be keen on reuniting with his former teammate.

Sancho has the pace and dribbling ability to be a star player in Chelsea’s forward line.

Manchester United

The Red Devils were rumoured (Metro) to be interested in signing the young Englishman in the recently concluded summer transfer window, but that move did not happen.

United seem to have changed their transfer policy with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer choosing young British talent to form the core of his team.

Sancho is not only British but he is also the kind of player who can play the “Manchester United way”. Direct, quick, and brimming with confidence, Sancho could turn this United team into serious title contenders.

Manchester City

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola must be kicking themselves for letting Sancho go in 2017.

With winger Leroy Sane’s long-term future at the Etihad still up in the air, Guardiola needs a player to fill the left side of the City midfield, which could very well be Sancho.

The Daily Mail report indicates that City have added a first refusal clause where any offer for Sancho that is accepted will inform City of it.

Guardiola has shown that he can develop young players, with the likes of Raheem Sterling benefitting hugely from his coaching, which could sway Sancho to choose the Spanish manager’s overtures.
