Deulofeu and Pereyra in attack: Predicted 4-2-2-2 Watford Lineup vs West Ham United

Watford endured their second defeat of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign when they narrowly lost to Everton at Goodison Park, and will want to pick up their first win of the season when they on West Ham United on Saturday.

Javi Gracia’s men are bottom of the Premier League table, having conceded four goals in two games, and are yet to score.

The Hornets host West Ham United on Saturday, another team who have struggled in the first two games of the season. When these two teams met last season at Vicarage Road, West Ham completed an emphatic 4-1 win over Watford.

Let’s take a look at the possible side that Javi Gracia may put out against West Ham:

Predicted Watford Lineup vs West Ham United

Goalkeeper

Ben Foster had a decent game last time around against Everton, and he will play between the sticks for the Hornets on Saturday.

Defence

Craig Dawson and Craig Cathcart had a much better game against Everton than in their first game together as the centre-back pairing against Brighton.

Dawson and Cathcart could start in the heart of the defence, as will left-back Jose Holebas. But there may be question marks surrounding right-back Kiko Femenía, who had yet another average outing against Everton.

We could possibly see Femenía replaced with Daryl Janmaat in the Watford lineup against West Ham United.

Midfield

Watford’s central midfield lacked creativity and pace in the first two games of the match, as they didn’t have a player who could drive forward with the ball and make things happen from midfield.

We could perhaps see Étienne Capoue drop to the bench and replaced with Tom Cleverley, who played the last few minutes of the game against Everton.

He will be joined by Abdoulaye Doucouré in central midfield. Up ahead, Roberto Pereyra will continue in the attacking midfield role behind the strikers, and we could maybe see Gerard Deulofeu move back to play beside him.

Attack

Watford have still not scored this season, and will need their strikers to step up against West Ham United.

Danny Welbeck came off the bench against Everton, but this game is perhaps too soon for him to start as he did not have a pre-season.

Troy Deeney could be paired with Andre Gray up top for Watford against the Hammers.
