After an impressive return to the top-flight, Wolves have high hopes for the upcoming campaign and are looking to strengthen their squad.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side one of several clubs showing interest in French U21 star Morgan Sanson, as per the Daily Mail.

The story claims that Sanson is attracting interest from the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United, and Burnley in England.

The 24-year old has now spent two seasons with Ligue 1 giants Marseille, where he has established himself as a regular starter in the middle of the park.

Last season, Sanson managed five goals and three assists in 27 league starts.

What will Morgan Sanson add to Wolves?

The former Montpellier man has quite a lot of experience even at 24, having already played over 180 top-flight games in France, where he has 28 goals and 25 assists to his name.

Known for his ability to ping long passes with ease, Sanson was used in a central midfield role most of last season, but he was effective playing in a defensive midfield role as well, where he put on some gritty performances to show his versatility.

Sanson can also add creativity to the attack, thanks to his vision and his ability to dribble with the ball, but he is at his best playing as a link between the backline and his attack.

As impressive as he has been in France, his parent club are actively looking to sell him this summer, to try and meet FFP regulations, which could help Wolves land him.

Nuno Santo has worked wonders with the Wolves squad in the last couple of years and will hope to compete with the top six next season. However, the manager will not only need to add more quality to his first team, but will also be desperate to add depth to his side.

Wolves have already managed to land Leander Dendoncker on a permanent deal earlier this week. They have exciting players like Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, but Sanson adds depth and a different dimension to their midfield that could be pretty crucial next season.

Sanson can play in any of the three midfield roles in Santo’s 3-5-2 and having gained enough experience in France, a full pre-season with Wolves should be enough for the manager to integrate him into the first team next season.

It is no surprise that the Marseille man is attracting interest from several clubs in Europe, and Wolves need to act fast if they believe that he is the right man for the project at Molineux.
