Sheffield United ready to step up their interest in 22-goal ace: A top move by Wilder

Premier League newcomers Sheffield United are set to improve their bid to sign Swansea City striker Oliver McBurnie, it has been claimed.

The Blades had failed with their bid of £15 million to sign McBurnie earlier this summer, and BBC have reported that a fresh offer, that could rise to £20 million, is on the cards.

Although the attacker has not pushed to leave the Liberty Stadium, his departure looks likely.

Following Sheffield United’s promotion to the top flight, Chris Wilder has done a decent job to add more depth to the squad before they play their first game in the Premier League.

Lys Mousset, Callum Robinson, Luke Freeman, Phil Jagielka, Dean Henderson and Ravel Morrison have already been signed this summer.

However, the club are still active in the market and have set their sights on McBurnie, who would be a pretty useful addition this summer.

Why Oliver McBurnie would be a good addition to Sheffield United

Predominantly a striker, McBurnie is a versatile forward, and is capable of plying his trade on either wing as well as in attacking midfield.

The Scottish international an all-round forward, and his dribbling and finishing would add a bit of flair to the Sheffield United attack.

McBurnie was in a sublime form for Swansea City last season where he plundered 22 goals and also registered 4 assists in 42 appearances in the Championship.

Not only is McBurnie a clinical finisher, but he can also create chances for his teammates. He might not be the quickest of forwards, but his pace will give defenders problems in the Premier League.

McBurnie’s work ethic is also impressive, and considering Sheffield United will be up against teams who could see more of the ball, it’s vital to have players who work hard while not in possession of the ball.

The 23-year-old might not be a finished article, but has the abilities to be a more than decent top-flight player if he moves to Sheffield United.

A move to the Premier League might appeal to him as he will be able to take his career to the next level.
