Aston Villa are considering a move for Celta Vigo attacker Emre Mor, it has been reported.
The Villans are keeping close tabs on Mor, and will compete with Norwich City and Sheffield United, who are also monitoring the Turk from close quarters, as per the Sun.
Celta Vigo are also frustrated with Mor’s attitude, and though he has three years left on his current contract with the Spanish side, they are ready to let him leave for free.
Under the tutelage of Dean Smith, Aston Villa had an incredible second half of the season to return to the top flight, and have done reasonably well in the transfer window.
A few more signings are expected, and Mor, who is an incredibly talented young attacker, would add more flair to the Villa lineup.
Emre Mor: Profile
Mor emerged through the youth ranks of Danish outfit Nordsjaelland and soon represented the senior team. In the summer of 2016, he signed for German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
Though he was a talented player, he had disciplinary issues and his inconsistency meant he was eventually demoted to the bench by then coach Thomas Tuchel.
Mor was subsequently sold to Celta Vigo after spending just one season at Westfalenstadion.
Will Emre Mor be a good signing for Aston Villa?
Mor is undoubtedly a quality winger but Smith will have to do something that the previous managers at Dortmund and Celta couldn’t do – get the best out of the Turkish attacker on a regular basis.
The Turkish international is quick, is sharp with his movements, and is technically very sound.
Mor could offer Smith’s side an outlet on the wide areas and has the calibre to put in good crosses into the box, or even play an inverted role and allow the full-back to overlap.
However, Mor lacks Premier League experience, so he will need time to adapt to the pace and physicality of the league.
Mor’s brashness and attitude problems have stopped him from developing further, and he’ll need to work on that if he is to fulfil his incredible potential.
The 21-year-old is far from being a finished product, but if Villa can get him for cheap, he wouldn’t be a bad signing.
