With less than a month to go in the summer transfer window, Everton have been busier than ever and rightly so.
The Merseyside club appointed Portuguese manager Marco Silva last summer and splashed the cash for the 41-year-old but failed to achieve their target of qualifying for European football.
However, they improved their points tally and, the stability and the entertainment value in Toffees’ style of play has also taken a considerable leap.
The 41-year-old manager brought a new approach to the Merseyside club and played a vital role in bringing some key players like Richarlison, Digne and Andre Gomes to Goodison Park.
But one area where the Toffees director of football Marcel Brands lacked massively is offloading the deadwood which still eats a chunk of their budget.
Let’s look at the three players who can leave Goodison Park this summer to generate funds and make way for new arrivals.
Kevin Mirallas
The Belgian international arrived at the Merseyside club in the summer of 2012 from Olympiacos.
After almost 6 successful years at the club, he went on back-to-back loans first to his former club for a duration of 6 months and then to Serie A side Fiorentina for the entirety of last season.
Mirallas, who will be 32 soon, has less than a year left on his contract and is aching for a move to his native Belgium with multiple clubs interested in attaining his services.
The Everton forward must be sold seeing he offers next to nothing to Silva’s side and will be a free agent come next July.
Yannick Bolasie
Bolasie is another player who was shipped out when the 42-year-old took charge of the Merseyside club last summer.
The Congo international arrived with a big reputation from fellow Premier League club Crystal Palace back in 2016 but failed to produce the goods.
Last season, he was sent on two back to back 6-month loans to a Championship side at the time Aston Villa and Belgian club RSC Anderlecht in the second half of the season.
The 30-year-old who returned to Goodison at the dawn of the month garnered interest from Newcastle United’s newly appointed manager Steve Bruce and is likely to exit the Merseyside club.
Oumar Niasse
The Senegalese arrived at the Merseyside club back in the winter window of 2016 and was at one time the club’s third most expensive signing.
However, he found it difficult to settle at his new surroundings and a year later was sent on a 6-month loan to Hull City, who got relegated to the English second-division at the end of the season.
The right-footed centre forward then returned to Goodison Park but one and a half year later, the situation got worse and after the club failed to offload him, he was again sent on loan to another Premier League club- this time it was Cardiff City, who enjoyed a similar fate as Hull.
The services of the 29-year-old who has one more year left on his contract have been deemed surplus to requirements and he must be offloaded in the summer before they lose him on a free, a player who arrived for such a high transfer fee.
