Manchester United‘s transfer strategy of signing young British talents has resulted in them being linked with yet another young star, Bournemouth’s David Brooks.

The Red Devils have made one signing so far this transfer window, as they confirmed the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea City.

A report from the Sun claims that Brooks could be another signing that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The Cherries may ask as much as £50 million for the youngster, having only signed him for £11.5 million a year ago.

Brooks signed a four-year deal when he signed in 2018, but signed an extension in March, 2019, just months after signing with Bournemouth.

Brooks is reportedly a boyhood Manchester United fan and could be tempted to join the Red Devils.

The Welsh player spent ten years at Manchester City in his youth and then moved to Sheffield United, where he made a name for himself, and had a good 2017-18 season before which he moved to Bournemouth.

In his first season at Bournemouth, the versatile player made 33 appearances for the club and scored 7 goals and 5 assists.

The 21-year-old has also played for Wales, making 11 appearances since his debut in 2017. Brooks’ current contract with Bournemouth expires in 2022.

A wise move by Manchester United to sign David Brooks?

David Brooks is an exciting young player who impressed in his very first season in the Premier League and Bournemouth.

The Welsh midfielder played in several positions, from playing as a central midfielder and central midfielder, to playing on the right side of midfield.

Brooks impressed in the season with his energy and determination in midfield, contributing in attack and defence for Bournemouth.

The young midfielder is a very useful player in counter-attacking situations with his calm passing and good finishing, while he also has the vision to play neat passes to the attackers.

The 21-year-old has the potential to be a very good Premier League player and would be a good fit for Manchester United.

The Red Devils need to sign new midfielders, following the departure of Ander Herrera and the potential exit of Paul Pogba. Brooks has already shown that he is capable of playing at the Premier League level and can only improve further.

He would be a very good signing for Manchester United and would fit in the strategy of signing young British players, which could also see another young talent in Aaron Wan-Bissaka join the club.
