The Premier League fixtures are out for the 2019-20 season, and as expected, it starts off with a bang!
The season starts on August 9, 2019 which will see 2018-19 Premier League runners-up Liverpool host newly promoted Norwich City at Anfield.
The big match of the opening weekend is the match between Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford on August 11, 2019.
The Red Devils have a few tricky fixtures at the start of the season apart from the Chelsea game. They play Wolves away from home, where they lost last season, and also face Southampton away from home at the end of August. They also play Arsenal in the last game of September at Old Trafford.
Champions Manchester City will play the following day when they travel to London Stadium and face West Ham United on August 10, 2019. City won the title by a single point ahead of Liverpool in the 2018-19 season, and will hope to have a hat-trick of Premier League titles at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United, while arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur will face Premier League newcomers Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s side have a tough run of fixtures at the start of the season as they face Liverpool away from home, and Spurs at home in back-to-back games to round off the month of August.
The Gunners’ title challenge could virtually be over by the time they face Manchester United on 28th September as they would have already faced two of their direct rivals in Liverpool and Tottenham.
The season kicks off with the Community Shield match between Liverpool and Manchester City which will take place on August 4, 2019 at Wembley.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the release of the Premier League fixtures for 2019-20.
Premier League 2019/20 fixtures have been released. We all know how this works, 20 teams, playing against each other twice and at the end Manchester United finish 6th.

7 – Manchester United won just seven points in 10 matches against the ‘big six’ in the Premier League last season; the fewest of the ‘big six’ clubs alongside Tottenham Hotspur (also 7). Tricky. #PremierLeaguefixtures pic.twitter.com/wCgXTFI23f

The last time Man Utd and Chelsea met on the opening day of the Premier League?
2004-05, when Jose Mourinho took charge of his first-ever Premier League match.
Chelsea won 1-0 and went on to win the title?

Looking at the spread of the games in Arsenal 2019/2020 fixtures makes me state the following opinions
1: Arsenal will NOT win the @premierleague
2: This fixture game groupings will be the END of Emeryville
3: This season will be fun watching Everton and Wolves surpass Arsenal— RED TEMPTATION (@TheArsenalNote) June 13, 2019

Aug – New season, bring it on!
Sep – Some promise, top four a possibility
Oct – Didn’t want to be in the Europa League anyway
Nov – We really need new players in January
Dec – Season over – theres always next year— Mack The Knife (@IdMjones) June 13, 2019
