Key Change In Midfield: 4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup vs Burnley

After a goalless draw at Selhurst Park, Everton will look to return to winning ways when they host Burnley at the Goodison Park tonight.

The Toffees are currently ninth in the league table but a win would put pressure on the Wolves, who are in pole position to finish seventh.

Everton team news

Theo Walcott and Yerry Mina were doubts heading into this fixture. But, coach Marco Silva, in his press conference, has confirmed that both the players have trained with the team and will be in contention to feature against Burnley.

That means Andre Gomes will be the only absentee for the hosts, with the Portuguese serving a three-game suspension.

Predicted Everton lineup vs Burnley

Defence

Silva is likely to stick to his trusted four at the back formation.

Seamus Coleman is a guaranteed starter in the right-back position as is Lucas Digne, who will be deployed on the opposite flank. The Frenchman will play a key role in Everton’s build-up play and will serve as one of the main creative outlets for the Toffees.

Kurt Zouma could once again get the nod ahead of Mina in central defence, despite the Colombian returning to full fitness this week. Zouma will be partnered by the ever-present figure of Michael Keane at the heart of Everton’s four-man defensive line.

Jordan Pickford will retain his place in between the sticks for Everton. The English international will be aiming for his third consecutive clean sheet in the league.

Midfield

Morgan Schneiderlin has emerged as a key component in the Everton midfield under Silva this year. But with Burnley unlikely to pose much of an attacking threat, this might be the perfect opportunity to hand the more adventurous Tom Davies a rare start.

Gueye will be tasked with the responsibility of circulating possession and dominating the middle of the pitch but he might have to take up a slightly withdrawn position tonight.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, meanwhile, is guaranteed to operate in the lone attacking midfield role. The Icelandic international will look to use his vision and passing ability to create opportunities in the final third while his ability to carry the ball across half-spaces will be equally important.

Attack

Walcott’s return to full fitness will have very little impact on the teamsheet, with Richarlison still very much the number one choice in the right-wing position.

Bernard, meanwhile, should continue on the opposite flank.

The Everton attack is likely to be spearheaded by Dominic-Calvert Lewin who has put in a series of selfless displays over the last couple of months.
