Arsenal are ready to cash in on Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer, according to reports.
As per the Sun, Mkhitaryan could be shown the exit door by Arsenal after struggling to impress consistently.
We take a look at three players Arsenal should target as a potential replacement for Mkhitaryan next season.
Ryan Fraser
Bournemouth star Ryan Fraser has emerged as one of Premier League’s most effective creative players, having registered 14 assists during the 2018/19 campaign. The 25-year-old was mustered the third most number of key passes in the league.
And the Scot could be an excellent replacement for Mkhitaryan given the fact that he can offer creative spark on the flanks. In addition, his ability to carve out spaces in the final third coupled with his offensive work-rate and impressive chance creations could make him an ideal option for Unai Emery.
There are risks associated in Arsenal’s pursuit of Fraser, however, with the Bournemouth star relatively inexperienced at the highest level of football.
James Maddison
With Ramsey to leave as well, it could be a perfect time for Arsenal to sign someone like James Maddison.
The Leicester City star has emerged as one of Premier League’s top playmaker following an excellent campaign that saw him create the most number of chances in the league. He was also involved in 14 goals, helping the Foxes finish in the top half of the league standings.
Maddison is a technically astute playmaker, who can operate not only in attacking midfield but also in the wide-attacking role. He is proficient when it comes to free-kick and could create a plethora of chances for Arsenal’s offensive duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Suso
AC Milan’s rejuvenated attacker Suso could be an ideal replacement for Mkhitaryan for a number of reasons. In fact, the Gunners have already been linked with a move for the Spaniard this summer – according to Tuttomercatoweb.
A former Liverpool prodigy, Suso has enjoyed a productive campaign for Milan this season, having been involved in 17 goals in 34 matches. His service on the flanks has been critical to Milan’s fight for securing Champions League football next season.
The 25-year-old is primarily a wide-attack, who likes to act as an inverted winger and create chances in the middle. In fact, only one player has managed to surpass his tally of ten assists this season, with one game still left to play.
It is believed that Suso could be available for £33 million, which is quite reasonable given the quality of the player. Hence, Arsenal should definitely consider signing the AC Milan star this summer.
