Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Ivan Perisic’s situation at Inter Milan, it has been claimed by reports.
Perisic was angling for a move away from Inter in January, but remained with the Nerazzurri as he didn’t have good offers on the table.
Now, according to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter might sell the player for a fee of €35 million, but Tottenham are willing to fork out €25 million for the player.
Perisic’s current contract runs until 2022, and at 30, he still has a few good years left in him.
Ivan Perisic to Tottenham – More spark in attack
Perisic would offer Tottenham that little bit of guile in attack. While Lucas Moura was expected to do that, the Brazilian has fallen off the radar after a bright start to the season, and the club could do with someone who is well-versed at taking on defenders and stretching play.
After signing for Inter in 2017 from Wolfsburg, Perisic has made more than 150 appearances for the Serie A side, and has mustered 36 goals and 36 assists in the process.
There Croatian silenced quite a few detractors after doing well for Inter following his move from Wolfsburg as many felt moving from an open league at the time to one which was more tactical and pragmatic would see his influence in attack diminish.
Perisic, however, has done really well, and is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Inter as they are vying for a place in the top four this season.
So far this season, Perisic has made 24 appearances for Inter in the league. The Croatian averages at least one key pass per game, and likes to test the ‘keeper, as he has recorded 2.6 shots per game on an average.
The former Borussia Dortmund attacker starred for Croatia in the World Cup last summer, and scored three goals to help his side get to the final. Having done well at the highest level, he would be a smart addition to Tottenham, even if not a long-term one considering he is already 30.
If Tottenham can get Inter to sell him for €25 million, it would be a smashing piece of business by the club.
