Lafferty To Start Up Front: 4-1-4-1 Rangers Predicted Lineup vs Hamilton Academical

Following their stupendous 5-0 win over Kilmarnock in the replay of the fifth round of the Scottish Cup on Wednesday, Rangers have to turn their attention to the Scottish Premiership title once again.

The Gers are scheduled to lock horns with Hamilton Academical at the SuperSeal Stadium on Sunday. Considering that the Accies are struggling, Rangers should not settle for anything less than all there points this weekend.

Gerrard’s troops are placed at the second spot in the league standings and are trailing Celtic by eight points and hence any further slip-ups will prove to be very costly in the title race.

Rangers Team News

Allan McGregor is set to return after serving a two-match suspension which he had received for kicking out at Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson earlier this month.

Alfredo Morelos will be a major absentee for the Light Blues this weekend as the Colombian striker will be serving his third and final match of suspension for violent conduct.

Meanwhile, Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy are also out of contention to feature as they are pursuing their rehabilitation from injury.

PREDICTED RANGERS LINEUP VS HAMILTON (4-1-4-1)

Defence

McGregor is set to return in goal despite the fact that Wes Foderingham had fared well between the sticks during the former’s absence.

The pair of Connor Goldson and Joe Worrall has been trusted by Gerrard in recent games and should once again start in central defence.

Skipper James Tavernier has been prolific with his galloping runs down the right and will keep his place at right-back.

Borna Barisic started in the last two games for the Glasgow giants and therefore, Gerrard could be tempted to hand Andy Halliday a start at left-back.

Midfield

Ryan Jack has been decent in cushioning the back-line and in dictating the tempo of the game and he is likely to start in deep midfield once again.

Glen Kamara might be afforded some rest with Gerrard likely to deploy Steven Davis and Scott Arfield in the central midfield.

Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias have been productive down the flanks and deserve to get the nod to start against Brian Rice’s side.

Attack

In the absence of Morelos, Kyle Lafferty could lead the line for the Teddy Bears while Jermain Defoe can be used as an attacking option if needed later in the game.
