Cavaleiro and Adama to Start: Predicted 3-4-2-1 Wolves Lineup vs Bristol City

Cavaleiro and Adama to Start: Predicted 3-4-2-1 Wolves Lineup vs Bristol City 2

Wolves will hope to qualify for the FA Cup quarterfinals for the first time since the 2002-03 season when they meet Bristol City on Sunday in the fifth round.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are coming on the back of a nervy 3-2 win over Shrewsbury Town in the last round, but will look to produce an improved performance against a much more accomplished Bristol side.

Wolves team news

The manager will have the privilege of choosing from a fully fit squad ahead of his side’s clash against Bristol City on Sunday, and we expect him to field a pretty strong side.

Predicted Wolves lineup vs Bristol City

Defence

Wolves do lack depth in the defensive department at the moment. Thus, minimal changes are expected at the back, with John Ruddy likely to replace Rui Patricio in goal. The 32-year-old has been Wolves’ cup goalkeeper this season and should keep his place between the sticks.

Conor Coady, Ryan Bennett and Willy Bolly should once again form the three-man defence. The trio will have to be wary against a  Bristol attack that last failed to score in November last year.

Boly has been in excellent form so far and the 28-year-old will be a threat in the opposition box, as he has already notched up three Premier League goals this season.

Midfield

Matt Doherty started in the draw with Newcastle United last time out, and we expect him to retain his place as the right wing-back.

The 27-year old scored a brace in the fourth round win over Shrewsbury, but will face a far sterner test against Bristol. Jonny might also retain his place on the opposite flank ahead of Ruben Vinagre.

We could witness a lot of changes in central midfield, however, as Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves might get a breather.

The Portuguese duo might make way for the duo of Morgan Gibbs-White and Romain Saiss, although Leander Dendoncker is also an option should Santo opt for a more defensive approach.

Attack

Diogo Jota is expected to be given a rest and we expect Adama Traore to deputise for the Portuguese star. The former Barcelona starlet will be partnered by Helder Costa in attack, and both of these players will look to feed Ivan Cavaleiro, who migth replace Raul Jimenez.
