3-5-2 with three changes: Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Chelsea

tottenham hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur will face another tough test in the Premier League when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The north London outfit were beaten by Burnley in their last league game and fell six points behind Liverpool in the race for the title.

Spurs will come up against a side who were beaten on penalties by Manchester City in the EFL Cup final, and consider Chelsea played 120 minutes, there are likely to be a few tired legs in there.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Spurs decided to rest Kieran Trippier and Davinson Sanchez against Burnley, and the duo are expected to return to the fold.

Harry Kane made a surprise return to the starting lineup, and is expected feature once again against Chelsea.

Victor Wanyama, Ben Davies and Eric Lamela were on the bench, and might play a part.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup

Defence

The defence was unlucky to concede the first goal against Burnley as replays suggested that Spurs should have had a goal-kick, but the defending for the second goal could have been better.

The trio of Roby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Sanchez will hope to do better against Chelsea, and unlike the clash against Burnley, they defenders will have a different game on their hands as the Blues won’t be as direct.

Ben Davies and Trippier should play as the wing-backs and they’ll have an important say in the game.

Hugo Lloris should keep his place in the Tottenham Hotspur lineup.

Midfield

Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks are likely to continue in midfield, and if Spurs do well and have a lead in the dying embers on the game, we might see the introduction of Wanyama to add more steel to the midfield.

Christian Eriksen should feature as the number 10, behind the two forwards.

Attack

Kane is likely to be partnered by Heung-min Son in attack. The England international didn’t take long to find the back of the net against Burnley, and is deadly in front of goal even if you give him a half-chance.

Son’s work-rate will be crucial against Chelsea, who like to keep the ball.
