Top 3 attackers in the Premier League so far including Liverpool and Chelsea stars

The Premier League has produced the second highest number of goals amongst Europe’s top five leagues this season, indicating the massive improvement it has seen in terms of its offensive productivity, meaning the attackers have played a vital role this campaign.

And in this article, we take a look at three attackers, who have impressed in the English top flight so far.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah clearly had a rough start to the campaign, failing to replicate his last season’s form due to a lack of consistency. However, the Liverpool superstar seems to have managed to return to his old self in the past couple of months.

Indeed, after scoring only three goals in the opening eight games this season, the former Roma star has been involved in 10 goals in the last nine matches, eight of which have ended in a victory for the Reds.

He notably scored a hattrick in the win over Bournemouth earlier this month and his presence in the final third has continued to propel Liverpool’s attacking efficiency.

Although it can be argued that the Egyptian wizard has still failed to reach last season’s dizzying heights, his performances have played a key role in Reds’ success as they are now one of only three unbeaten teams in Europe’s top five leagues this campaign.

Callum Wilson

Bournemouth had a stunning start to the campaign and most of it can be attributed to the success of Callum Wilson, whose excellent productivity in the final third has kept the Cherries just 3 points off the Top 6.

Wilson has scored eight goals in 16 matches so far, which has already equalled his last season’s tally but what has really caught the eye is his creativity in the final third with the player having already registered six assists to his name.

As a matter of fact, the 26-year-old has been involved in more than half of Bournemouth’s goals this campaign which has not only attracted the interest of top clubs across the Premier League but also earned him his first cap for England last month.

However, the Cherries have derailed a bit in recent weeks, losing six of their last seven matches and Eddie Howe will have to figure out a way to stop the rut.

Eden Hazard

By far the easiest pick on this list, Eden Hazard’s mercurial form has played a key role behind Chelsea’s smooth transition from Antonio Conte to Maurizio Sarri this season.

In fact, the Belgian has been involved in 17 goals in just 16 matches – more than anyone else in the league. But, the 27-year-old also leads the league in terms of key passes while only Wilfried Zaha has attempted more dribbles than him this season – making him the ultimate offensive package.

That being said, Hazard’s incredible form has also attracted the interest of Real Madrid, who are keen on securing his services next summer. In the meantime, however, Hazard’s form will surely play a key role as Chelsea look to keep pace with Liverpool and Manchester City.
