Shaqiri Starts: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Liverpool Lineup To Beat Arsenal

After a comfortable win against Cardiff City last weekend, Liverpool will travel to North London to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday in what will be the biggest game of matchday 11.

Liverpool are still unbeaten in the league but Arsenal are a team in form, so it could be a tough game for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are level on points with Manchester City and the gaffer has managed to successfully integrate Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri into the starting XI, so the Merseyside outfit will be pretty confident of not only keeping their unbeaten run going but also come away with three points.

Liverpool Team News

Klopp doesn’t have too many injury concerns at the moment. Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson are doubtful but the manager does have options to choose from in midfield.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup

Defence

Liverpool have the second-best defence in the league having conceded just four times in 10 league games so far this season. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are turning out to be the best centre-half pairing this season and it’s unlikely Klopp will change that against Arsenal.

Alisson has been equally good in goal, behind the two centre-halves, and his distribution coupled with his timely saves have aided the team.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will have to be on their toes as Arsenal have done well to create openings from the wide areas.

Midfield

Fabinho has already left his mark in midfield and it’d be a surprise if he doesn’t start against Arsenal after impressing in his last two outings. Gini Wijnaldum is expected to partner the Brazilian in central midfield as Klopp is likely to go with the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Xherdan Shaqiri could once again be given a number 10 role after impressing in a cameo role against Cardiff City last weekend.

Attack

Roberto Firmino should start up top. The Brazilian’s tendency to drop deeper means Liverpool will have the extra numbers to deny Arsenal space off the ball. Mohamed Salah seems to have found his goal-scoring touch again as has Sadio Mane who likes playing against Arsenal.

The two wide players are expected to have plenty of joy against the Arsenal fullbacks come Saturday.
