Leeds United returned to winning ways after the international break following their 2-0 win against Bristol City. The Whites were soundly beaten by West Brom before the break but Marcelo Bielsa’s side showed good resolve to bounce back at Elland Road.
Leeds will next host Reading in the Championship on Tuesday and will be fairly confident ahead of the fixture given the two clubs’ recent run of form.
Reading have struggled so far this season and have already lost half of their league games, so they will be the underdogs come Tuesday.
Leeds United Team News
Bielsa handed Will Huffer and Aapo Halme starts against Bristol City on Saturday. While Huffer didn’t have much to do, Halme put in a good performance and is in line to start once again come Tuesday considering Pontus Jansson is still a doubt.
The Leeds boss has already revealed that Izzy Brown and Patrick Bamford are not quite ready for first team action as they return to full match fitness.
Predicted Leeds United Lineup
Defence
Liam Cooper should partner Halme at the heart of the Whites’ defence. Halme won three aerial duels and won one tackle in the last game and it was a good, solid performance in his first start.
Stuart Dallas put in a brilliant performance against Bristol City as he did his defensive duties well and also got forward when he the chance. He finished the game with five tackles and took three shots as well which is remarkable for a makeshift right-back.
Barry Douglas is likely to play in the left-back role as usual. In Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s absence, Huffer will get another chance.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips should start in front of the defence once again. Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw started in the slightly attacking roles but we expect Samu Saiz to return to the starting lineup in place of Forshaw.
Attack
Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez should start as the two wide players. The latter scored a deft goal against Bristol City on Saturday and has been a real creative force for the Whites this season.
Kemar Roofe will continue to lead the line for Leeds and will hope to add to his eight goals this season.
Alioski – Roofe – Hernandez
Klich – Saiz
Phillips
Douglas – Halme – Cooper – Dallas
Huffer
