Leeds United have a big game against Sheffield United on Saturday and Marcelo Bielsa’s side will look to make it three wins in as many games in the Championship.
The Whites have kept two cleansheets in their last two victories but the recent win against Reading was a hard-fought one.
Bielsa’s side had to rely on a late penalty save by Bailey Peacock-Farrell to preserve their narrow lead and a clash against Sheffield United, who are just two points behind the Whites, will be a tough game.
The Leeds fans are starting to see a bit more consistency despite a couple of key players missing due to injury.
Leeds United Team News
The big positive from Bielsa’s press conference is that centre-back Pontus Jansson is available again after missing the last two games for the Whites.
The Swede’s addition will be a massive boost for Leeds who have actually fairly well without him but have shown a few signs of weakness.
Jansson is in line to start against the Blades on Saturday.
Predicted Leeds United Lineup
Defence
Jansson is likely to return and partner Liam Cooper at the heart of the defence. Stuart Dallas is starting to make a name for himself as a top right-back in the Championship and should retain his place in that role.
Barry Douglas is one of the first names on the teamsheet and he should continue in the left-back role.
Peacock-Farrell will look to keep his form after helping Leeds to a win on Tuesday.
Midfield
Jansson’s return at the back means Kalvin Phillips could return in a defensive midfield role. His distribution and combative ability will be crucial against a good Sheffield United attack.
Mateusz Klich and Adam Forshaw could play in slight attacking roles in the midfield.
Jack Clarke is one name on every Leeds fans’ lips right now after an impressive second-half display against Reading. Considering how lacklustre Ezgjan Alioski was, it’s likely that Clarke will get his first start of the season.
Pablo Hernandez, a player Bielsa feels Clarke should follow to improve, is expected to start on the right once again.
Attack
Kemar Roofe will lead the line for the Whites come Saturday. Eight goals in 13 games isn’t bad and the forward will hope to improve that tally.
