aston villa lineup

Rangers secured a thumping 3-1 win over Heart of Midlothian at the Ibrox Stadium earlier today. The Gers produced a stirring performance to outclass the league leaders and Steven Gerrard must be a thoroughly satisfied man at this stroke of the hour.

Here are our Rangers player ratings following their win over Craig Levein’s entourage.

Allan McGregor 8/10

The veteran custodian made two stupendous stops to deny Steven Naismith and Uche Ikpeazu from finding the back of the net early on. Besides, he also made a crucial save from Arnaud Djoum in the closing stages of the game.

James Tavernier 8/10

The skipper flourished down the right and jotted some shrewd crosses into the box. It was a commendable outing for him.

Connor Goldson 7/10

Goldson dealt with Ikpeazu with a lot of resilience and there is no denying that the manner in which he discharged his defensive duties was notable.

Joe Worrall 6/10

On many occasions, Worrall struggled against Ikpeazu and he lacked confidence when the ball was at his feet.

Jon Flanagan 7/10

Flanagan involved himself in the attacking endeavours of his side and made a series of galloping runs forward. Zdenek Zlamal made a great save to deny him from scoring.

Lassana Coulibaly 8/10

The midfielder anchored the side as he sat deep to carry the ball from the defenders in order to fetch the attackers. His physical presence worked wonders for the Light Blues.

Scott Arfield 7/10

Arfield ran tirelessly throughout the pitch and left no stone unturned to put the visiting side on their back foot. He scored the third goal of the game, which took the game away from Hearts completely.

Ovie Ejaria 7/10

Ejaria mustered another decent outing for himself in the Scottish Premiership. He linked up well with his teammates and tried to dictate the tempo of the game.

Daniel Candeias 8/10

The Portuguese was a live-wire on the flanks as he constantly sniffed for goal scoring opportunities. He was the one who set up the goal for Alfredo Morelos.

Ryan Kent 9/10

Kent impressed in Rangers shirt once again. He scored the opening goal and toiled relentlessly on the wings.

Alfredo Morelos 8/10

The striker doubled the lead of Gerrard’s troops and was clinical up top. He made life troublesome for Jimmy Dunne and John Souttar.
