Tomori Gets 8/10: Derby County Players Rated In 1-1 Draw Vs Middlesbrough 1

Derby County and Middlesbrough shared the spoils at the Riverside Stadium earlier today in their latest Championship fixture. George Friend’s own goal early in the first half gave the lead to the Rams which was nullified by a Jayden Bogle own goal late in the second half.

Here is how we rated Frank Lampard’s men from their draw with the Riversiders.

Scott Carson 6/10

The custodian committed an error in the first half which almost gifted a goal to the Smoggies. He didn’t have much to do as the opposition hardly posed any threat.

Jayden Bogle 6/10

It was an unlucky moment for the full-back to concede an own goal after he put in a steady performance for the major chunk of the fixture.

Richard Keogh 7/10

The centre-back put on a solid display at the heart of the back line. He dealt well with Britt Assombalonga’s threat in particular.

Fikayo Tomori 8/10

He was unarguably the best defender on the pitch for Derby County as he read the game meticulously and was spot on with his positioning.

Scott Malone 7/10

Although he had one or two questionable moments in the first half, Malone offered a lot of threat going forward with his surging runs.

Harry Wilson 7/10

He kept asking questions of the Middlesbrough defence with his vision and creativity. Unfortunately, had a curling effort hit the post.

Tom Huddlestone 7/10

The midfielder was calm and composed in the middle of the park and recycled possession capably. Notably, he made a stupendous tackle to deny Assombalonga from finding the back of the net.

Mason Mount 7.5/10

Mount was impressive throughout and displayed his skill set in the opposition half. He ran tirelessly with a lot of intent.

Martyn Waghorn 7/10

He kept the pressure on Friend, which eventually led to the defender scoring an own goal. Waghorn also admirably catered to his defensive duties in the closing stages.

Jack Marriott 6/10

The striker was bereft of the spark he otherwise possesses. He simply didn’t do enough to trouble the Boro defence.

Tom Lawrence 7/10

He was lively in the first half but his influence waned to a considerable extent in the second period. He was denied twice by Darren Randolph.

Substitutions

Bradley Johnson 6/10

He replaced Mount in the 62nd minute and showed good composure on and off the ball.

David Nugent 6/10

Nugent came on in place of Marriott but he couldn’t seal the game for Lampard’s side despite making a good attempt which was saved by Randolph.
