Arsenal Latest News: Update On Premier League Legend's Injury 1

Arsenal will be bereft of the services of their first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech for three to four weeks as he is sidelined with a hamstring injury. Cech suffered hamstring problem just before the half-time in his side’s 2-0 win over Watford at the Emirates Stadium in their latest Premier League outing.

Cech looked commendable between the sticks once again after making a string of top quality saves against Everton last week. Despite signing Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, Unai Emery has preferred the 36-year-old as his primary custodian as the Spaniard chose experience over youth.

The former Chelsea shot-stopper had started all of his side’s games in the league and Leno has featured for the Gunners in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. However, Cech’s absence should enable Leno in impressing the manager and give him headache with respect to selecting the goalkeeper once Cech returns.

Cech is expected to be back before Emery’s side host Liverpool on 3rd November. The north London based outfit are due to face Qarabag away in the Europa League on Thursday and Leno is set to be stationed under the bar, with fellow goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez set to go to Azerbaijan as his deputy.
