Shocking Update: Man United Were Never Close To Signing England Star

During the summer transfer window, Manchester United managed to sign merely three players, namely, Diogo Dalot, Lee Grant and Fred. Although Jose Mourinho was keen to lure a proven centre-back to his ranks, he wasn’t backed adequately by the board.

One of the players Mourinho was reportedly eyeing was Leicester City’s central defender Harry Maguire. The Portuguese wanted to get hold of Maguire after he carved a series of strong and commendable performances in the World Cup for the English national side.

However, the Foxes had slapped a price tag of £75m on his collar, which cooled the interest from the Red Devils and nothing materialized eventually. Interestingly, the 25-year-old who recently inked a new five-year deal with Claude Puel’s camp, has stated that Manchester United were never close to signing him.

On being asked if a move to the Old Trafford was a possibility for him during the summer transfer window, Maguire said: “There was a little bit of interest there and then but it was always on my mind when I spoke to the owners, who wanted to keep me at the club and extend my contract, that I wanted to play for this club.”

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved view it has generated at least $17 billion in the U.S.
