Leicester City will aim to bounce back from their defeat to Liverpool as they travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Foxes are currently eighth in the Premier League standings, having secured six points from their opening four matches. Leicester played fairly well against Liverpool and will perhaps count themselves unlucky not to pick up a point.
The clash with Bournemouth will be no walk in the park as the Cherries have already registered seven points from four matches.
Leicester City Team news
Leicester don’t have too many injuries to worry about. At the moment, Matty James is their only absentee. The 27-year-old is suffering from an Achilles problem and is not expected to return to full fitness until the end of the month.
Predicted Leicester City Lineup
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will be the man between the sticks for Leicester City. The Danish international has managed only one clean sheet this season and will be eager to extend that tally this weekend.
Head coach Claude Puel will be facing a dilemma while picking the defensive centre-backs with the likes of Wes Morgan, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire and Caglar Soyuncu all competing for the two available spots. We expect new signing Soyuncu to be given the nod ahead of Evans and Morgan and partner Maguire in central defence.
The Turkish international featured in all 180 minutes during the international break and it’s about time Puel gives him a chance. Ricardo Pereira and Ben Chilwell are expected to start in the fullback roles.
Pereira is definitely the one to look out for, having made the most number of tackles and interceptions from the Leicester squad so far.
Midfield
Puel could stick with the same midfield setup he used against Liverpool, meaning both Nampalys Mendy and Wilfred Ndidi might retain their place at the base of Leicester’s 4-2-3-1.
Ndidi has averaged over three tackles a game this season and it remains to be seen how he’ll deal with the likes of Jefferson Lerma and Dan Gosling this weekend.
James Maddison will be deployed further upfront, as the lone playmaker. The former Norwich starlet has done pretty well in the top flight, having provided five key-passes so far this season. He will be the main source of creativity for the Foxes.
Attack
The Leicester City attack will be led by none other than Jamie Vardy. Claude Puel’s men will be boosted by the return of Vardy, who has served his three-match ban and will be eager to impress this weekend.
The wide-duo of Demarai Gray and new signing Rachid Ghezzal will complete the attack.
