Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has put his pen on a new five-year deal with the club. Henderson has been an instrumental player for the club and there is no denying that. He has carved 283 appearances for the Reds and has managed to find the back of the net on 24 occasions.
Speaking to the club’s official website after signing his extension, the English international said: “I’m very happy to have signed a new contract for a long period of time – I’m absolutely delighted. I’m so privileged to have been a part of this club for so long, and hopefully even longer now.”
Having emerged through the youth ranks of Sunderland, Henderson showed a lot of calibre and he was lured to the Anfield in the summer of 2011. He became Liverpool’s captain after Steven Gerrard’s departure to LA Galaxy back in 2015 and has really grown as a player over time.
During his time with Liverpool, he has won the League Cup and featured in the finals of the Champions League and the FA Cup. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also had nice words to say about the midfielder: “Jordan embodies entirely what it means to be a Liverpool player in this modern era of football. The best thing is he will get even better in these coming years.”
