Fulham lured midfielder Jean Michael Seri to the Craven Cottage during the summer transfer window from the ranks of Nice for a reported transfer fee of around £25m. Seri has already made a decent impression in the Premier League for the London based side, starting in all four league games so far.
He scored a stupendous goal in his side’s 4-2 home win over Burnley and carved a wonderful assist for Andre Schurrle in the 2-2 draw at the AMEX Stadium with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. He has been a really intriguing and appealing package to watch and there is no denying that.
Survival in the top flight will be Fulham’s priority and they do need the 27-year-old to keep firing. Reportedly, Seri was courted by the likes Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur during the transfer window, but he chose the Cottagers over the rest owing to the fact that they showed him respect.
Seri told The Times: “When I played for Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal, Nice came for me and they really came. Fulham wanted me the same way. They said, ‘We want you, come to Fulham.’ Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, they saw me but they didn’t say, ‘We want you.’”
