Vardy To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leicester City Lineup vs Wolves

Leicester City will host newly promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday as they aim to register their first win of the new season.

The Foxes were beaten narrowly by Manchester United despite putting in a brave effort last Friday. But, with many of their star players coming into the fold, they’ll be confident of their chances against the Wolves.

Leicester City – Team News

Claude Puel will be without the services of midfielders Matty James and Nampalys Mendy. James is sidelined with a calf injury while Mendy suffered a knock. Shinji isn’t fit enough and we might not see him until the third game week.

New signing Caglar Soyuncu finally joined the squad on Thursday but he too has a few more sessions to go before he can be integrated into the team.

On a positive note, the likes of Jamie Vardy, Jonny Evans, Vicente Iborra and Rachid Ghezzal are all in contention to start after being left on the bench for the opening game of last weekend.

Predicted Leicester Lineup

Defence

Kasper Schmeichel will start in goal for Leicester City this weekend. The Danish international will be keen on picking up his first clean sheet following a disappointing game against Manchester United.

Jonny Evans’ availability is a big boost for Claude Puel. The former West Bromwich Albion defender missed out on playing against former club last weekend but will be raring to go this time around. He will be partnered by Harry Maguire in central defence.

As for the fullback spots, Daniel Amartey is destined to lose his place in the starting lineup after making a naive error to give away an early penalty to Manchester United. Thus, we could expect Ricardo Pereira, who was deployed as a right winger, to drop into the right-back position while Ben Chilwell will start as the left-back.

Midfield

Vicente Iborra will replace Adrien Silva at the base of Leicester City’s 4-2-3-1 alongside the reliable Wilfred Ndidi. The Nigerian international was an integral figure in Leicester’s pressing against United, winning two aerials duels and attempting four tackles.

James Maddison showed shades of his ability last time will be deployed as the number ten. The former Norwich City starlet mustered only 29 passes before subbed off later in the second half.

Attack

Leicester City attack will be led by none other than Jamie Vardy, who will replace Kelechi Iheanacho as the lone forward up front. Vardy will be supported by the duo of Rachid Ghezzal and Demarai Gray. The latter was quite impressive against the Red Devils, completing five dribbles and taking three shots.
