Tottenham and Liverpool amongst teams with the best attacking setups in the PL

mo salah

”Attack is the best form of defence”. Usually, cricketers are known to apply the philosophy as and when required but the Premier League clubs seem to have taken it in their stride pretty well.

But which of the teams have the best attacks? Here are the top three attacking lineups in the league:

#3 Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino may not have made a single signing in the summer transfer window, but his attacking options are probably as good as any manager in the league.

With Harry Kane, one of the best strikers in the game at the moment, leading the attack, there is never a shortage of goals. He has scored 21, 25, 29 and 30 goals in the last four top-flight seasons and has already opened his account in the current campaign.

With the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, both of who are among the best playmakers in the country, giving Kane all the support he needs, Spurs usually have no problem finding the back of the net.

The trio scored 49 goals and had 24 assists between them in the league last season and stand as one of the most exciting attacking lineups in England.

#2 Manchester City

The record-breaking league winners from last season, Manchester City scored more goals than any other club in the country thanks to a mesmerising attacking lineup.

Sergio Aguero, one of the most consistent goal scorers in the league for over five years now, is ruthless and is off the mark this season with a hat-trick against the Terriers. He scored 21 goals last season for City and was instrumental in a memorable title run.

What made Aguero that much more effective was Pep Guardiola’s system and how the wingers and the midfielders combined consistently. Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane added pace to the wings and complimented the movement of Aguero, as they fed off each other, mustering 49 goals and 36 assists in the league last season.

#1 Liverpool

The runners-up of the Champions League last season, Liverpool, have an attacking lineup that has been impossible to stop this year. They put four past West Ham in the first game of the current campaign and will pose a threat to every defensive line in the league.

Roberto Firmino and his unique playing style make Jürgen Klopp’s system a lot more effective. The speed, creativity and composure provided by the likes of Mohamed Salah, the PFA Player of the Year from the last season, and Sadio Mane, makes them a thrilling trio.

Salah was the top scorer in the league last season, scoring 32 goals but together, Mane, Salah and Firmino registered 57 goals and 25 assists, standing as the most productive attacking lineup in the league.
