As per one of the latest reports by The Sun, Manchester City’s winger Patrick Roberts is a subject of interest for four clubs, namely, Bordeaux, Rennes, St Etienne and Girona. All the aforesaid clubs are believed to be keen to lure Roberts out on a season-long loan spell.
The transfer window deadline day for Premier League clubs ceased to exist on 9th August. However, the 21-year-old is all set for a loan abroad and given that he isn’t in Pep Guardiola’s plans at Manchester City this season, a temporary spell away from the Etihad Stadium will make a lot of sense.
On the deadline day, Roberts was linked with a move to Huddersfield Town. But a deal failed to materialize and is eligible to move to a foreign club before the end of the ongoing month. The Englishman emerged through the youth ranks of Fulham and after his dazzling displays for their senior side, he was signed by the Cityzens in the summer of 2015.
From January 2016 to the end of the previous season, he was out on loan with Scottish giants Celtic and was unarguably one of the best players under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers. Roberts certainly has a lot of potential but needs to brush himself further to challenge for a regular place in Manchester City’s starting line-up.
