As per one of the latest reports by Northern Echo, Newcastle United are looking to offload Henri Saivet from their ranks this summer. His exit from St. James’ Park is expected to materialize within a day or two with the Turkish outfit Bursaspor nearing a deal to sign him.
In the January transfer window of 2016, Saivet was lured to the ranks of the Magpies from French side Bordeaux for £5m. However, he found it difficult to nail down a respectable position for himself in their senior side and was shipped out on loan to Saint-Etienne and Sivasspor.
He has unarguably failed to make an impact at Newcastle United and has made merely 8 senior appearances for them. The Senegalese international has three years left on his current contract with the Toon but considering that he is a complete outcast, it will make a lot of sense if he leaves the club.
It is unclear how much Newcastle United are going to receive to strike Saivet off their books, although his move is expected to be a permanent one. The 27-year-old has reportedly gone to Turkey to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with Bursaspor.
