Manchester United fans will be gutted to hear that club manager José Mourinho has come out and said it’s unlikely the club will sign anyone today. The gaffer was hoping for two more signings before the Premier League deadline but United just haven’t been able to negotiate with their targets.
United have been able to sign just three players so far this season; Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant. Although they’ve managed to keep their key players, their rivals have strengthened considerably and that has bugged Mourinho.
The manager was pretty vocal about not having the players he needs during United’s recently concluded pre-season and he revealed earlier today that he doesn’t expect the situation to change, “The market closes today. It is time for me to stop thinking about the market.
“I am not confident. I have to focus on the players I have and the next few matches.”
United start their Premier League campaign tomorrow when they take on Leicester City. The Red Devils will hope to begin their season on a strong note despite all that has happened in the last few weeks.
