Antonio Conte helped Chelsea to another trophy last season but the Blues are in a great position right now, going into the summer transfer window.
The fans will be a bit worried about the future of the club but they have the FIFA World Cup later this month to keep their minds off club recruitments.
Having built one of the strongest squads in England, Chelsea have a number of star players travelling to the World Cup this year and the fans have many players they will want to keep an eye on. But which of those stars are expected to be impressive in this competition?
Here are 3 Chelsea players to look out for in the 2018 World Cup in Russia:
#3 Eden Hazard (Belgium)
Arguably one of the best playmakers in the game at the moment, the 27-year old will be playing in just his second World Cup finals this year. The last time ended in a loss to Argentine in the first round of the knockout phase and Hazard will hope that his side can take a step further this time around.
Hazard will be the skipper of the side, as he was in the qualification rounds and his performances will be crucial in Belgium making it as far as they can in Russia.
Martinez has one of the most talented squads to call upon and Hazard could be one of the best players in the competition this year.
#2 N’Golo Kante (France)
Though he did not have a great season with Chelsea in the Premier League, the French midfielder still stands as one of the best in his role in Europe. He will be one of the first names on the team sheet for Didier Deschamps’ side and his contributions will be crucial for France to get the better of the star teams in the competition.
He was exceptional in EURO 2016 in France and will be playing in his first World Cup in Russia. If he can keep up his form, playing alongside the likes of Paul Pogba, he can be a game changer for France.
Kante’s work rate and ability to shield the defence will be key for the team to progress deep in the tournament.
#1 Victor Moses (Nigeria)
Drawn against the likes of Argentina, Croatia and Iceland, Nigeria have a tough task in their hands to get past the group stage in the World Cup in Russia this year but they have a few stars in their lineup, who are more than capable of carrying the side. But none more than Victor Moses, who has been one of the best players for the side for quite a while now.
The 27-year old, who acts as a wing back for Chelsea, is the first choice winger for the national side and will be playing his second World Cup this year. If he can be at his best, Nigeria have a real chance of testing the teams in their group.
if Moses can stretch the play with his pace and incisiveness, then the Super Eagles can surprise teams in the group stages.
