Chelsea Touted To Make A Move For Serie A Superstar: An Ideal Signing For Next Season?

Following a disastrous campaign, Premier League giants Chelsea are expected to undergo a series of changes this summer. While head coach Antonio Conte is almost destined to be sacked, the club has already been linked with a move for Maurizio Sarri, who is expected to take over at Chelsea after leaving Napoli this summer.

According to latest reports, however, the 59-year-old Italian is also keen to bring in Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain to Stamford Bridge. Following rumours of his possible managerial role at Chelsea next season, the Italian, it seems, has already drawn up plans and Higuain is understood to be identified as a top target for Chelsea this summer.

Highly regarded as one of the best strikers in world football at the moment, Gonzalo Higuain has a good relationship with Maurizio Sarri. The pair had worked together at Napoli before he was shipped off to Juventus for a record-breaking fee.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are desperate to secure the services of a top class striker this summer. The London giants have struggled since the departure of Diego Costa, with new signing Alvaro Morata disappointing in his debut season in the Premier League. In fact, the addition of Gonzalo Higuain could potentially pave the exit of the Spaniard, who has scored only eleven goals this season.

On the flip side, the Argentinian international Gonzalo Higuain has also been having a mixed time after joining the Old Lady in 2016. The former Real Madrid forward shares a decent record of scoring 55 goals in just 105 competitive appearances in Juventus colours.

Higuain’s addition to Chelsea will definitely prove to be a game-changing move for Roman Abramovich’s men. The Argentinian international has already gained a vast amount of experience in top-flight football, which will help him quickly get used to the Premier League while his impressive goal-scoring traits will instantly heal Chelsea’s lack of offensive firepower.

Furthermore, Gonzalo Higuain is also quite familiar with Maurizio Sarri’s playing philosophy, meaning he won’t likely have any problems in integrating with the new manager. In fact, Higuain had experienced his best season at Napoli under the Italian mastermind and the duo had previously expressed their desire of working together once again, making the move all the more likely.

Even though it’s very unclear whether or not Juventus would like to let go of their Argentinian sensation, a move for Gonzalo Higuain is still a possibility considering the fact that Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, in turn, is hugely linked with a move to Turin, which creeps up the possibility of a swap deal between two of the most dangerous strikers in world football at the moment.
