Hibernian hosted Celtic at the Easter Road Stadium yesterday in the Scottish Premiership fixture and Neil Lennon’s men managed to upset the league leaders.
The hosts took the lead through Jamie MacLaren’s strike in the first-half which was doubled by Vykintas Slivka in the second-half. Although Odsonne Edouard scored a goal late in the game for the Hoops, it was too little too late for the reigning Scottish champions.
Here are our Celtic player ratings from their defeat at the hands of Hibernian.
Craig Gordon 6/10
The custodian made a good save to deny Florian Kamberi in the early stages of the game. However, his distribution was poor and it led to Hibernian’s first goal.
Jack Hendry 6/10
Hendry defended well and galloped forward on plenty of occasions to create chances for his side. But then, he was partly responsible for the second goal his side conceded.
Kristoffer Ajer 7/10
The youngster looked reliable at the back and kept the opposition attackers at bay.
Dedryck Boyata 5/10
He was troubled by Kamberi and MacLaren on a regular basis. Poor performance.
Kieran Tierney 6/10
The Scottish international made some driving runs and looked alive in the first-half. But he was beaten time and again in the second-half.
Scott Brown 5/10
Brown hardly made his presence felt as he struggled to move the ball and lacked the cutting edge he otherwise usually operates with.
Olivier Ntcham 4/10
It was a forgettable outing for Ntcham who seemed to put an invisible cloak on. He was rightfully replaced at half-time.
James Forrest 5/10
Forrest has had a good season but against the Hibs, he was way far from his best as he couldn’t get past opposition left-back, Lewis Stevenson.
Tom Rogic 7/10
The Australian international was relentless in the attacking third and should have found the back of the net on two occasions at least.
Callum McGregor 6/10
McGregor toiled, but mostly, in vain. Didn’t have the impact he usually has in the final third.
Leigh Griffiths 7/10
The striker linked up well with the midfielders and looked sharp with his movements. He nearly bagged the equaliser before the break.
Substitutions
Scott Sinclair 5/10
The winger replaced Ntcham at half-time and showed his raw pace. However, his end product was lacking.
Odsonne Edouard 6/10
He replaced Griffiths with 25 minutes left to play and grabbed a goal in the final minutes of the game.
Patrick Roberts 6/10
Roberts was put on the pitch at the expense of Forrest with 20 minutes left to play and he did bring some freshness into Celtic’s attack.
