Arsenal Star Still In Line For A Remarkable Comeback: How Will It Impact The Squad? 1

Arsene Wenger has a tough job this summer if he stays back at Emirates. The French manager has to resolve the future of a number of his first-team stars but one player he has recently spoken about is Santi Cazorla.

Wenger Hoping To Retain Cazorla:

One of the most gifted midfielders in the game, Cazorla has spent six seasons with Arsenal but has not appeared in a game for the club since October 2016, when he picked up an ACL injury. It is understood that he has till date had nine different surgeries on his ankle but is yet to return to training.

Wenger described Cazorla’s injury as the worst he has seen but the French manager has today said that he is hopeful of getting the 33-year old back into his team in the future.

Speaking to the media recently, Wenger revealed that the most recent news of his injury is positive and that he is hopeful of having the player in his squad before the end of the season. A fully fit Cazorla is easily one of the best in the league but does he have a future at Arsenal?

Arsenal Midfield Conundrum:

After losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, Wenger was quick to tie down Mohamed Elneny to a new deal but is struggling to get the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere to pledge their future to Arsenal. Both players are extensively linked with an exit and Wenger is already in the transfer market, looking for replacements.

In the current transfer market, as inflated as it, it will be near impossible for The Gunners to find two midfielders of the highest quality and might have to look at youngsters who can come good in the long term.

Granit Xhaka will remain the only partner for Elneny if Wilshere and Ramsey leave, so it will be a blessing for Arsenal if they are able to field Cazorla next season.

Does Cazorla Have A Chance Of Playing For Arsenal Again?

The Spaniard’s current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season but if available for an extension, he will definitely be given a chance at Arsenal. His age will certainly not be a factor in his playing ability but what has to be taken into consideration is the extent of impact the injury would have had.

Most reports claim that it is really hard to see him play football at the highest level so Arsenal are better off looking at other players who can improve their squad and can see Cazorla as a bonus. At the moment, he is not a player they can rely upon for a season but his return to football will surely be celebrated by more than just Arsenal fans.

Do you think we will see Cazorla back on a football field in an Arsenal shirt again?
