Arsenal will enter one of their most important summer transfer windows at the end of the season as they will have to replace Arsene Wenger, who has been at the club for 22 years. While replacing the Frenchman will not be easy, Arsenal will also have to keep an eye on players who can improve their squad next season and one player they are extensively linked with is Malcom.
Malcom Boost For Arsenal:
A transfer target for the club even in the January transfer window, Brazilian dazzler Malcom has been in terrific form for Bordeaux this season in France and has extensively been linked with an exit at the end of the season. The likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and even Bayern Munich are interested in his signature and he will be up for sale this summer, revealed Nicolas de Tavernost, the owner of the club.
Tavernost, speaking to the media recently, said that he will be allowed to leave the club at the right price, so is he an option for Arsenal?
Malcom And His History:
A product of the Corinthians academy, the Brazil U23 international moved to Europe for the first time with The Navy And Whites and has taken no time to establish himself in the first team at the club. He is easily one of the most exciting stars in Ligue 1 this season, where he has picked up nine goals and six assists in 27 league games.
He is a regular in the side, playing on the right side of the attack in a 4-3-3 system under Gus Poyet but has time and again expressed his interest in playing for the biggest clubs in Europe.
At just 21, he has shown great strength and technique in the final third. Smart and productive with the ball at his feet, he is an excellent passer and a great crosser but is also adept at cutting in and creating chances for his side. He is usually lethal in front of goal and his ability to test the keeper from dead balls and long range makes him all the more dangerous.
He has to work on his aerial ability and also needs to be more disciplined but at his age, he is only going to get better and will be a huge coup for any club that signs him this summer.
Chances At Arsenal?
The Gunners recently spent on Henrikh Mkhitaryan while they have the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi for the three roles in the attack, just behind the striker. Malcom can play on either wing and though he may not walk into the first team, his potential addition will seriously put pressure on the senior stars.
Ozil and Mkhitaryan might be regulars next season but Iwobi might struggle to beat Malcom to the first eleven, thanks to the Brazilian’s natural ability to create and finish off chances.
He is still at the start of his career and can easily build a legacy at Arsenal if given the chance. But do you think he is the right man for The Gunners?
