Arsenal Set To Move For Bayern Munich Goal machine: Crazy Or A Wise Choice? 1

Transfer Talk:

Oh Arsenal, dear Arsenal!

Just after signing two quality strikers in Alexandra Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal are being linked to another top forward by the good folk over at the Express. Robert Lewandowski has been highly touted to make a move away from Bayern Munich in the upcoming transfer window. Clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with the Pole but now the rumour mills are churning out the Gunners to be one of the suitors.

Robert Lewandowski: A striker from the yesteryear

Tall and the perfect stature, Lewandowski is a threatening prospect inside the box. The Pole has been blessed with a clinical finishing instinct. This makes him one of the safest forwards in European football as one can bank upon the Pole to finish off chances with relative ease. Lewandowski runs quick, but most importantly his change of pace is incredible.

He is almost deceptive and is a tough man to mark in and around the box. Lewandowski can play on the shoulders of the last man and is physically dominating inside the box. He is strong with either foot and can be relied upon to finish off crosses and deliveries into the box with his aerial prowess.

This season, he has scored 23 goals in the Bundesliga and has created 19 goal-scoring chances too. He has a pass accuracy of 79%, meaning that Lewandowski could be relied upon to build up attacks and interlink with other forwards too.

Arsenal DO NOT need him:

Arsenal’s transfer policy has been surprising and sometimes stupid at times. Despite being exceptionally fragile at the back, the Gunners have failed to sign a quality defensive midfielder in recent times. The heart of their defence is guarded by an ageing Laurent Koscielny and the unreliable Shkodran Mustafi.

As a result, Arsenal have been terrible at the back end of the pitch. They have shied away from signing quality players deep down the pitch and have astonishingly focused only on the forward line for a long time now. Even in January, when they apparently had funds to lure the likes of Fabinho and Wilfried Ndidi, Arsenal signed Aubameyang for a club-record fee.

The Gabon international was signed months after the arrival of Alexandra Lacazette from Lyon. Hence, as of now, Arsenal have two amazing strikers to challenge for the forward’s slot along with Danny Welbeck waiting on the wings. Lewandowski will cost a lot of money and Arsenal must be stupid to sign him this summer.

In their bid to revive their image and performances on the field, Arsenal need to start building the squad again from the back. Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski will most probably find a better-suited team to make the best out of his talents.
