Key Change In Defence: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Lineup Vs Liverpool

romel

Manchester United will clash heads with their arch-rivals Liverpool this weekend, in what will be one of the most highly anticipated Premier League matches, of this season.

The Red Devils, currently sitting second in the Premier League table, just have a two-point lead over their weekend opponents, meaning a win for Liverpool, could see them pip their arch-rivals to the second spot, by the end of this weekend.

While both sides are coming on the back of two back to back Premier League victories, Liverpool are coming on the back of a Champions League game against Porto in midweek, which might favour the Red Devils ahead of their enticing clash.

Here’s the predicted Manchester United lineup to feature against the Reds this weekend.

Defence

David de Gea will be the man between the sticks for Manchester United. The Spaniard will once again be crucial, especially in this high-end encounter this weekend. His shot-stopping abilities will be put to the real test against the dangerous looking Liverpool attack.

Jose Mourinho is not expected to make many changes in the defensive department this weekend, meaning Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young will both be deployed as fullbacks.

However, Eric Bailly could replace Victor Lindelof, who started in the game against Crystal Palace last weekend. The Ivorian will be partnered by Chris Smalling in central defence, with both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo settling for a place on the bench.

Midfield

Young midfielder Scott McTominay might once again be entrusted with the job of partnering Nemanja Matic, in the centre of the Man United midfield. The Scottish youngster has been quite impressive since his breakthrough, earlier this year, and can prove to be an ideal long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Michael Carrick.

Paul Pogba, on the other hand, will be deployed as the false number ten. The Frenchman will hover around the half-spaces, using his ball carrying ability to create space in between the channels as well as bridging the gap from defence to offence.

Attack

Manchester United’s attack, this week, will be led by Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian International has scored in his last two matches and will be eager to extend his tally against Liverpool.

He will be partnered by the duo of Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard in wider positions and the former Arsenal man will be eager to get back on the score sheet.
