It hasn’t been a perfect season for Ousmane Dembele, who is far from successfully adapting to his life on the Spanish shores, ever since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
The Frenchman has missed a chunk of the season due to injury but despite having returned to full fitness earlier this year, Dembele is struggling to find form under Ernesto Valverde this season, which has left Barcelona frustrated.
Barcelona, who were quite active last summer in the transfer market, have already been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann which could definitely have an effect on Dembele’s long-term future with the Blaugrana.
And according to reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon, who often make huge transfer claims, Premier League giants Chelsea are preparing a whopping €120m bid for Ousmane Dembele in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While this rumour may seem to be quite out of the blue, it actually makes sense considering the fact that the Blues are willing to break the bank for an attacker this summer, as they prepare for the possibility of life without Eden Hazard next season. The Belgian superstar is expected to be embroiled in a transfer saga in the summer, with Real Madrid perennially linked with him, meaning the Blues are in dire need to find some replacements in the market and Ousmane Dembele could be an ideal man to replace the Chelsea superstar.
Ousmane Dembele, who was initially brought in as the Neymar replacement, at Barcelona last summer, has struggled to cope with the new challenges so far this season but that being said, the Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the best young players in world football at the moment.
His sensational stint with Borussia Dortmund in the 2016/17 season, suggested the fact that the Frenchman is capable of making a huge difference for any team he plays for. Dembele was often the one-man army for Dortmund, even when the black and yellows looked completely fragile and out of touch.
His exceptional qualities on the ball coupled with his sensational dribbling ability are what makes him such a sought-after talent in world football. With current Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte being on the verge of getting replaced by Luis Enrique next season, Dembele might just be interested in a move to the Premier League, considering the fact that Spaniard embraces the similar possession-based football, used by Thomas Tuchel during their time together at Borussia Dortmund. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how Dembele’s transfer saga takes shape this season.
